Owner & Head Coach of Foundation Academy Sports began playing and learning the fundamentals of basketball at a young age. He attended Beach Channel High School in Queens, New York, and was the star point guard. He was named player of the week consecutive times, All Queens 2nd Team, and All City Honorable Mention.

After his high school career, in 1988, David continued on to play at Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn, New York. As a freshman, he was awarded The Leadership Award, and as a sophomore The Captains Award. He was also ranked Top 10 in the state of New York for assists.

Following his collegiate career, Coach David Anderson actively participated in several leagues located in New York City, which included the Summer Nike Pro-Am, Summer West 4th Street, The Cage, and Pro-Am NBA Leagues.

“Those who can teach, have a responsibility”, which is not only something Coach Anderson is known for saying, but something he lives by. “

Coach had a natural love and understanding of the technical game of basketball. He began to help give kids an understanding of what the game was about also. He began as a volunteer assistant coach for Manchester High School in Midlothian, Virginia. He then took a position as the head freshman coach at Manchester High. While coaching, he focused on developing the player’s fundamental skills so that they would have a stronger foundation as they moved up to play higher competition.

Later on that year, he began his training program, Foundation Academy Sports, which would give kids the one on one attention they needed in order to improve their all-around game by strengthening their fundamentals.
